It's hard to forget the space adventure comedy “Guardians of the Galaxy,” which was one of the most unique films to come out of the Marvel stable. With a great script laced entertaining banter, brilliant action sequences, visuals and a cohesive cast, it was one of our best flicks of 2014.

Fans will be excited to know that Marvel Studios has begun principal photography at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta on Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” which is slated to hit U.S. theaters on May 5, 2017.

The studio announced the beginning of production for the follow-up to James Gunn's 2014 sci-fi superhero hit which marks the return of the original Guardians, including Chris Pratt,  Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan and Sean Gunn.   New cast members include Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Kurt Russell have also been announced although it has not been revealed what roles they will play.
