Coverage:

Saturday Night Fever meets Saturday Night Salsa. Dance With Me will probably be compared to the 70s hit Saturday Night Fever, but the music falls short of the former hit movie.  The movie has some great dance sequences but the struggle to hold up a really lame plot that barely livens up at the ending. To my surprise, however, and to the credit of the filmmakers, they opted not to have a predictable storybook ending.
The film's about a broken-hearted former dance champion named Ruby (Vanessa L. Williams) who ends up as a dance instructor at a faded Houston dance studio. Enter Rafael (Chayanne), a young Cuban whose rhythm and hot passion helps Ruby recapture her standing as a top Professional International Latin Ballroom dancer. Dance With Me is a good musical and dance film, but it tried to cover too many dramatic bases.
